Other information....

Digging?

Is your dog digging like crazy, holes all over the yard? Try putting some of the dogs faeces in the holes and covering them back up, this will discourage them from digging in that same area again.

Sibling rivalry?

This can happen in any multi-dog household. Common causes are jealousy over food or dominance issues in the household. Dog Blog can help you overcome these problems with  in-home client visits. There is no need to look at re-homing the dogs, as this problem is fixable.

Expecting a baby?

Dog Blog can help with a ‘baby setup’ which involves coming to your home and teaching you exactly what you need to do to get your dog ready for the new arrival of your baby. This is very important so that your dog does not become jealous of your new arrival and avoids any anxious moments ahead wondering how they will get on!

Kids and new puppy living together?

Sometimes puppy and kids together can be tough, especially when it comes to playing games. Kids are running around and the new puppy runs around too, but then nipping, and jumping up can occur, even knocking over the child. This is a very common scenario, and can cause the parents anxiety and question whether they have made the right decision to bring home a new puppy. This again is easy to fix and both kids and the puppy can live in harmony with no more scratches or nips on young skin.

Can’t make puppy school?

Dog Blog also provides a ‘puppy setup’ service where they will come to your home and give you all the information you need with bringing up and living with a new puppy as well as tailoring it to your home environment, including how to puppy proof your house. Topics such as sleeping, feeding, toilet training, mouthing, teething and much more are covered during the 2 hour session.

 Behavioural Problems with Your Cat?

Please contact the surgery as we have many handouts available on cat behavioural problems. These can mostly be managed with the veterinarian during a consultation. A home visit is usually not required. ( Unlike with dogs). Cats occasionally require medications which can only be dispensed during a consultation with the veterinarian.
